I was being entertained by this

Great Blue Heron

The fish were jumping out of the water. Lots of turtles everywhere. I even got to see an Osprey swoop down and catch a fish...way too hard to get a picture of that for me right now :(

I saw this Great Blue Heron standing out on the lake...was almost toward the center of it...I got all excited and took this picture. I stopped and thought about it for a little and was wondering how it was standing on top of this mass so well. Usually the legs are further in the water. Upon closer inspection I noticed there were a bunch of turtles by the heron. It actually looks like the bird is standing on the turtles. (you may have to click on the picture to get a bigger view to see the turtles. Maybe I am just imagining things.

Anyways...I'll have more stuff to come now that I can get out more and my schedule is not at crazy as it has been the past couple months.

  1. I've been perusing your blogs (Wow, you're prolific!) and enjoying some of your latest posts. I just noticed your bio says "Pine Barrens." My brother goes there multiple times each year, to the Tom Brown school, and has been for, oh, twenty years now maybe? I've yet to go but would love to eventually. Anyhow, back to reading your blogs. Hmm ... which to follow? Decisions, decisions.
